Our Story

Established in 2017 Cegin Burlington offers a professional and specialist fine dining catering service in Cardiff and throughout Wales and the West. With a passion for sourcing the best of Welsh produce from local suppliers our approach is simple. We use high quality seasonal ingredients, allowing us to support the local economy and consequently keep down our carbon footprint.

Alongside event catering we are also pleased to offer monthly restaurant pop-ups. Building on Cardiff’s emerging ‘foodie’ scene, our innovative fine dining tasting menus showcase a range of produce and cuisines.

Gareth Dobbs

Originally from Cardiff but having grown up in London, Gareth began his culinary career aged 17. Initially keen to explore his musical talent as a guitarist in a band and while waiting for ‘fame and fortune’, he started washing pots in the Four Seasons Hotel. Moving forward twenty years, and he has subsequently worked in some of the most prestigious Michelin-starred restaurants in the UK.

He enjoys exploring and working with a variety of ingredients and styles of cooking from a range of regions and takes delight in producing imaginative and memorable dishes, making full use of the abundance of Welsh produce available.

Inspired by his first Head Chef Phillipe Trouisser who brought out his true passion for food; Gareth has a wealth of gastronomic experience. Having previously worked in the kitchens of both Pétrus and Le Gavroche he now brings his skills and vast knowledge of fine dining to Cegin Burlington.

Wil Atkinson

Having been a chef for the past 13 years Wil initially entered the world of catering and hospitality after working in a kitchen to fund his master’s degree in music. However, it was only after he achieved his qualification that he realised he had developed a passion for gastronomy.

Wil’s love of food stems from the culinary influence of his grandfather and a childhood of home-cooked family meals which he now continues for his own family. An Italian Chef by career, he was inspired to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps, and his own Italian heritage is evident in many of the recipes he develops.

Originally from London, Wil grew up and subsequently trained to be a chef in South Wales. A passionate advocate of Welsh produce, he enjoys using innovative techniques to create imaginative and delicious dishes.
